1. How did you know about this program and what was your purpose to apply for it?
While attending university, I usually did a lot of practice, volunteer activities and supporter activities in Korea.
I wanted to have a lot of experience in foreign countries.
In the process, i saw a writing about a short-term overseas internship on the school homepage.
Since I was very interested in food and beverage services, I wanted to participate in a meaningful internship.
I applied for the internship because I wanted to know many things about the food culture of Malaysia.
A new intern came from Indonesia.
I talked a lot about working with her, and we became close quickly. She is so cute!
2. Introduce about your internship company
The company I worked for is the Grand Millennium Hotel.
This is located in the Bukit bintang of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
The hotel offers a variety of food and beverage services through various restaurants including
The Mill Cafe, Lai Ching Yuen, Bistro 160, In Room Dining, and Club.
Among them, I worked in ‘BISTRO 160’. It provides a wide variety of foods and desserts (cakes, bread, etc.)
in conjunction with the THE MILL CAFE kitchen. It also provides beverage services
such as coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks, beer, cocktails and wine.
By developing a variety of promotions, the ‘BISTRO 160’ ranked first in July sales among its restaurants at hotel.

3. What did you usually do during internship
I usually prepared for the opening. We did a lot of things,
such as organizing wine and cocktail bars, table setting, coffee extraction, cleaning, inventory checking,
and filling up consumables. After that, I take orders when guests come.
And i make the drink and bring the food from the kitchen.
Then, I serve and clean the table. Most of the work is ‘customer reception’.
I can also get a phone call to help with reservation service
and provide accurate information when a customer has any questions to me.
On the last day of internship, staffs gave cakes as presents. Thank you very much!
4. Self Evaluation
At first, it was most difficult to have a sore foot. The bones were swollen and blistered.
My feet still hurt, but it’s much better than the first time.
I am proud to have endured the difficult process.
I think my biggest achievement is ability to serving customer.
I tried to provide the food and beverage service to customer with a smile,
and I tried my best to do what customers wanted.
Many customers asked me about my nationality and praised me for my service.
The second thing I’ve achieved is ‘making drinks’.
I had experience using coffee machines in Korea,
so I especially made cappuccino and latte very well. After seeing my coffee,
another employee praised me for the appropriate milk froth and
also said the chocolate syrup art is pretty.
Also, some customers said the coffee art is pretty.
However, when I make a small mistake and an employee points out loud,
everyone looks at me. Then, i get embarrassed.
I want to be myself who is not afraid to be pointed out for mistakes.
An staff suggested taking a picture with a ‘finger heart pose’ and took a picture with the same pose!
